Carb Gasket(s) question

Hi,

I received two gaskets for the carb when I ordered a new manifold. Am I meant to be using both of them? The old gasket is compressed and broken so I'm not sure what was there before. I've attached a picture showing the 2 new ones.

I have a 2005 Mercruiser 3.0L serial: 0W601238 20140202_150441.jpg

Separately, dam it is hard getting the old gasket off the bottom of the carb, currently using a scraper (gently) and some ultra fine sandpaper after a quick soak in parts cleaner.

Thanks

You would only use one gasket. Match up the gasket to what your scraping off your base plate. If your removing old material from between your throttle plates use the one with the holes.

Re: Carb Gasket(s) question

Ok thanks, there isn't much left on the carb, most stayed on the old manifold so I'll use the un-opened one.

For anyone else who reads this, this is what the bottom of the carb looks like. 20140202_201518.jpg
