As would I lol!
I knew you would say that.
bottom line when properly rebuilt, set up and maintained qjets, AFB/webber/Edelebrocks, and Holleys all work very well. Key is getting decent core carbs and having the knowledge and experience to make it work. When you hear comments otherwise one of these is lacking, even with the bigger carb rebuilders. As these cores age, so do the guys who can really rebuild them.

That’s true younger folks seem to think carbs are akin to witchcraft lol. It’s really simple actually Bernoullis law & pressure difference. Whether it’s a simple 1bbl on a lawnmower or three deuces on a big block V8.
Old boats I’ll take carbs ANY DAY over EFI. Cost & parts availability. When I was a kid learning about cars (late 60s early 70s) we used to hear that QJets were too complex for beginners. Guess what? They’re not!

Exactly. As a teenager the first one I opened up was scary. After I got a look inside, I thought what the heck? There's not much in here to go wrong. A kit and checks of the specs, good to go. I was 14 then. Now 65. rebuilt to many count since then.

And now we can watch you tube on our IPad while doing carb rebuilds! Couldn’t do that back in the 70s!
