Cool I will probably put carpet back on the deck so the finish is not an issue as long as its water tight :D

This maybe apples to oranges but this how I repaired 6 rotted ribs under the galley on my 64 Chris Craft Catalina (woody)30 years ago. God I loved that boat anyway I used the exact method as mentioned above and if I could add anything different what I did was thru bolt the sister with 14/20 SS bolts nuts and washers along with wood screws the Epoxy I used was Marine Tex Yeah it's old school but to this day I have yet to find anything meaner and 6 years later looked liked the day I finished them.

New life to an old thread. When you guys are talking about using epoxy to splice in a manner in Wood's diagram above; do you use straight resin or are you using a thickened epoxy (cabosil mix)? If you say thickened epoxy, how do you avoid sqeezing it all out? If unthickened, are screws or clamps preferable? Thanks for the help with this.

Howdy, Moreheadnc

Welcome to iboats. :)

This thread is 2 years old. Not a good place to ask a new question.

You will get much better response if you start a new thread to deal with your situation.

Good luck. :)
