Hello everyone, new to the forum and am in a bind with a new boat purchase where the boat has been sitting for years. got the boat fired and running, but after replacing the selenoids (only got a clicking with the old and same with the new).....still have no movement or motor noise. I have to replace the water impeller/ pump, is it possible to raise the motor manually, so i can do that .....and any input or further help trouble shooting would be greatly appreciated

Yes on the right side of the mounting bracket theres a hole on the side. If you look in it, you'll see a screwdriver slot. Turn the screw counter clockwise 4-1/2 turns and you will then be able to move the engine up manually. Block it when it's up because it will come down with a vengance if you don't. FYI the manual say's 4-1/2 turns but they usually only need 3-1/2. It's exactly like letting down a bottle or floor jack. Tighten it back up when it's raised up and blocked then when you need to lower it, pull the block and just ease off the screw and it will come down slowly.

The trim motors on these were pretty stout and lasted really well but they do fail. It's no simple job to replace it because you have to remove the side of the motor mount. It's no stroll in the park but if you take your time and follow the steps in the manual you can do it.

Thanks for your fast response, unfortunately i have not picked up the manual for my motor yet......but will. Once the screw is loosed and i do what i want, will all be the same when i tighten it back up? And also, did you mean it is a pain to replace the motor or were you referring to the whole unit? Again, thank you

First, yes it's just like a bottle jack, it will be just like it was before you loosened it. No bleeding required or anything like that.
Second, it depends on which trim/tilt you have. There's tricks to doing it without completely removing the side plate. I have the equipment to make it just as easy to pull the plate and prefer that method.
