It's not welded on, just pull it off...
The bellow is tightened with the edge of the bellow house, I am concerned to rip the bellow if I force the bellow off from the edge of bellow house.

From the inside of the bellow, carefully wiggle a flat screwdriver between the bellow, and the housing all the way around.

There is a little of gear biting voice while I try to shift from neutral to reverse. it seems better from neutral to forward. How can I solve this issue? I have checked that it is 6 inches.

That drive has a dog clutch which will make a clunk when it shifts normally. Best to shift firmly and quickly into gear. Most likely it is normal

What does you mean? I have done the fixing job, including pulling engine, replace coupler, rebuild the bellows and replace the shift cable , rebuild the base, ask mechanic to reseal the upper , finally mounting engine back and did the alignment between gimbal bearing and engine, engine and outdrive.
catastrophic failure!

During one day in the water, there some backfires from full speed to slow down. Also sometime the engine shakes when I turn engine off. sometime it does not. How can I solve the backfire issue and engine shaking?

The outdrive is not the original. I will do a test to switch to my original outdrive.

Back fire is usually timing or fuel related

Have you done a compression test and you know the timing and firing order is correct ?

If yes to both I would think you have a fuel supply or carburetor issue

Compression is 140,140,125~130,140. Now the firing order is ok. But I do not know how to test the timing.

How can I solve the engine stop while pull the lever to reverse? I am sure that the length of between center of hole in shift cable end guide and center of brass barrel is 6 in and Ensure shift lever adjustable stud is at bottom of slot. If necessary, loosen stud and move it to bottom of slot, then retighten stud.

Adjustment may not be the problem. You need to check all of the system to make sure everything is working correctly. Things like, did you clean out the bottom of the shift slide, and the bottom of the cavity in the bell housing, and the slide pocket in the drive? Is the upper shift Shaft moving freely in its bushing (without binding)? It's the coupler between upper and intermediate shift shafts not causing drag? (And many other things)

Hi Chris, This time I only change the lower shift cable .

There is a viedo for engine dies. What should I adjust according to this viedo?

Ignore this video. The presenter does not know what he is talking about. Bad video! (See my comment in the comments section of the video)

When you change the cable, did you go right through all of the adjustment procedure? (Hint: you must)...

No, it's all in the manual... But I did make my own video on the subject. Click the link 'MY VIDEOS' at the bottom of my post signature and it will list all the videos I have made for iboats. Just select the one that is called 'Mercruiser shift cable adjustment.'

Hi Chris, I followed your viedo to adjust lower shift cable and remote control cable, then the reverse can work. Thank you so much.

Did you use bellows adhesive on it ?

Yes. I did.
If it was clean and you let the adhesive tack up for a few minutes and it came off then the clamp must not have been on right.

These are not OEM Merc bellows right? That could be part of the issue

Should I push the bellow behind the ditch. The bellow was stopped just at the position of ditch. It should be very good if I can push the bellow behind the ditch. What is the right position for the bellow of u-joint. The bellow is for QuickSilver.

I have a question for applying adhesive. Should I apply only inside of bellow or both inside the bellow and outside flange?
