Can telltale be TOO strong?

I have a 60hp Johnson '88 and it's the 5th ob I've owned, this thing has a pee stream even at idle that would make a horse jealous.

there is an insert in the end of the hose, makes a strong pressure stream.

There was a service bulletin about the tell tale hose....... make sure it is routed the right way. It should be in a big loop due to the cooling issues on the 3 cylinders. Google it.

Thank you, I'll check it out. Yes, I did notice that it has an insert, very small diameter hole.

EDIT: I googled it, but didnt find the info on routing the telltale, or the service bulletin.

The reason for the bulletin was that the original tell tale tap into the block was not at the top of the water jacket which caused an air pocket and hence a cooling issue.
