Can I use an SEI SE106 complete unit to replace my 1969 MC-1? Will I need to reuse my MC-1 drive shaft?
I thought I read somewhere on here that if you wanted to replace an MC-1 upper unit with an Alpha 1 generation 1 upper unit that you have to use the MC-1 driveshaft.
I figured that should hold true for an SEI unit also.

Ayuh,... Only for the in-line Chevy motors... The V-motors already used the 9"+ shaft...

I believe they sell The SE106 with both size shafts. Just have to let em know which you have.

It would probably be worth a call or email directly to them, as they advertise their unit to replace the quote... "(Replaces MerCruiser's? Alpha One? I/O 1973-1990)"

Yours is a 1969. I don't know the exact difference, but I would check before ordering.
