Can anyone help with this wiring?

I have a 1985 Evinrude 150 hp that I got from my father in law. Been fixing it up for about a year. This is a new problem that I found. In the picture, the 2 wires are connected like speaker wire, one is connected and one isn't. The other wire with the metal clip on the end, your guess is as good as mine. If you can help, please!!

Also not sure about you one marked "not sure", unable to see where it goes but appears to be same color as the other.

Tough to tell because picture isn't that good.

My guess?, the one wire with the metal clip marries up to another one with the opposite metal clip. Could be an option clip for say a temp gauge or for a wire somewhere on the engine. Should be a rubber boot that goes over it.

Second wire with the description "speaker wire" I have no idea. You have to grounds coming off the power pack....make sure there going to a good cleaned ground.
