Thats what I was wondering, does someone make a "holeless" gasket...?

Paint of course... ha, did touch it up while the intake was off. Rust never sleeps...
I have no idea if there is a holeless gasket out there in the wild somewhere. I'd consider making the block off plate.

I would visit some hot rod forums I bet there is someone who wanted to not run exhaust heat under the carb in hot climates. This was needed in automotive applications to provide heat for the old style well type (divorced) choke and also prevent carb icing in cold weather. Mine doesn’t get that hot (135-140 max) but it also has the restrictors installed as on the OE set up. Being that you’re in AK if you boat in cold weather I might keep em just use the restrictor.
Your new ones (look like Fel Pro) already have the restrictor installed.
