Re: Bruno's and Cari's Boating Adventure (iboats owners)
Hi jjacobs007 and thanks for the questions. The 58 is the true north compass reading on my auto pilot. Even when I'm not using it, when it's turned on it shows my heading. The 32 and 31 are 3200 and 3100 rpm of the 2 Yamaha engines. In this case I was running slowly due to rough seas and I caught it with one engine with slightly higher rpm. I keep them equal as much as possible. The other numbers are current speed which was 16 mph, 0.9 mpg, and the 20.0 shows my gallons per hour burn rate. Not very good numbers at that speed. The boat is designed to plane at about 18 or 19 mph so I was plowing versus planing. As the picture shows that I am including with this post, you can see that when I am on place the numbers are much better. You will see that at 4,000 rpm I am going 35 mph with 1.1 mpg and 31.9 gallons per hour. These are VERY good numbers for a 34.5 foot, 12 foot beam cruiser that sleeps 4 and weights 18,000 fully loaded with fuel, water and so on.
Thanks,
Bruno (Captain of the iboats' boat)
