Broken wood guide on pontoon trailer ?

Hello all,
Got a used 1999 18' Sun tracker toon last year. By the end of last season being my first she did not sink! On the trailer
had break in the carpet covered wood guide front right side about 16 inches from the front end. Is there anything
that would hold up better than a carpet covered 2x4.

Yep.... A carpet covered 4x4 or 2x6 if it will fit

Toon bunks are often replaced, its no big thing, order some new bunk carpet and pick up some yellow pine and alum roofing nails.
