Outer magnets busted in flywheel, question can these be replaced ,if so where can they be purchased at? Or should I look for a used flywheel?

I found a couple on e-bay. Part #258-859232T15 . Seems a waste not having magnets available. Don’t have pictures. Thanks for your help.1645140719951.jpeg

Flywheel in the picture does not look like the flywheel off a 1976 model.----Do not believe there was a 25 HP in 76.-----Should be easy to find a flywheel.

My son brought this motor over for me to look at , he told me it was a 1976 and I found a listing for a 25hp using the serial number , but you have got me thinking that he got the wrong year , will check into this in the morning .

No 25hp in 1976 the small motors go 4.0-4.5-7.5-9.8(110)-20-40 hp.
It shows up in 1980 along with an 18, new to the lineup.

Most who know would instantly recognize that to be a 1981/ 82 model.----The 76 model 20 HP motor is totally different with different unique decals for 1976 models !!

That flywheel is extremely common just buy one and go boating. That will be neither a Marathon or a Sea Pro.

25hp Mercury serial #5842747 (1980/81 I think)
Don’t know where to start . Flywheel magnets are cracked , but I was told shouldn’t hurt , I do have another one on order. Right now there is no spark to plugs. Is there anything that I can do or should I wait on flywheel replacement?

Do a complete evaluation of this motor before spending your beer tokens.------On those models 9 out of 10 have needed a new water pump impeller.----At least on my work bench.----Compression test first !
