Broken low speed needle

I have about 10 or more of these engines.----At 50:1 they will last nearly forever.----The bronze main bearings rarely show any sign of wear !
They're not even replaceable. I am surprised OMC went with 50:1 without Antifriction Bearings on the Crank, except for the Con Rod Bearings.

Our 64 5 1/2 went thru a lot of Abuse, underwater, overheated, no oil in gearcase, but like a Timex, it kept on ticking

A well designed / sized bronze bushing might be just as good or better than a needle bearing !

Hey guys I got the broken needle out, had to drill a hole in the Welch plug chamber, and use a very small punch and knocked it out reassembled the carb with an oem kit ,runs great now!! Plugged up the hole with JB weld steel stick
