bravo1 outdrive trim tab

Hello again, What is the purpose of the trim tab just above and trailing the prop on the bravo drive. It bolts through the fin just above the prop. Unpainted

It is a sacrificial anode and also counteracts the torque steer of the prop....which is why its is adjustable ...for different props and installations on different boats .
Sacrificial anodes dont work if you insulate ( paint ) them

Never saw a Bravo drive with one of those because Bravo's always have power steering. Those were used on some Alpha with 4 cyl motors and no power steering. If you have power steering you don't need it
