I've got a 2004 Trophy 2359 with a 5.0L MPI and Bravo 3 outdrive.

I'm trying to figure out the gear ratio of the outdrive (I'm selling it) but can't find anything on the outside that tells me.

Is there a standard ratio that would have been installed in that package?
Is there an easy way to figure out the ratio without pulling it?

Thanks

Usually it’s just near the serial number - on left hand ( from rear of drive) side of upper it maybe imprinted on the mercruiser label but it is stamped under this on the drive. I think there are sites on line where you can look it up if you have the drive serial number off the owner literature

With drive removed, mark the drive shaft and one of the prop shafts. Rotate drive shaft 10 times and count the prop, then divide by 10

Its rotated 10 times to make sire its not an even ratio like 2.0

Most I’ve seen are 2-1. Best to check though. Or if you know the rpm flat out and props pitch...you could take a pretty sensible estimate. If your numbers are accurate

I believe the bravo 3 was sold 3 ways: 1.8, 2.0, and 2.2. The turn method alldodge mentions should tell you.
