Boyseen Reed replacement

Can the average person replace the reeds in a 1978 Evinrude 70 hp? How much trouble is it to complete that task?

Get a manual to do it is fairly easy, take the carbs and the intake off. Follow the directions on the reeds because you will need to change the low speed orifice.

I myself do not recommend Boyeson reeds...you will need a manifold gasket and carb monting gskt. I use CCMS reeds. Link below is usually whats happens to Boyesons
