I am restoring a 1964 13' BW classic. However, I'm stuck on how to rebuild the non-skid surface floor. A few areas were "mended" with fiberglass cloth and sticks out like a sore thumb. Has anyone on the forum restored the flooring on these boats? Thanks, Mark

Re: Boston Whaler Flooring

Also, post of some pics are what you are dealing with, as the advice may change depending on what we see. It may be tough to match or spot fix depending on how large the patch areas are.

One of the best DIY non-skid jobs I have seen is this thread:

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=523412&page=3&highlight=mike+lammert

See page #3, starting with post 69....

Also, Sleeper6 did a pro looking non-skid finish on his deck as well:

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=507523&page=4&highlight=sleeper6

See, page 4, starting with post 88. He used textured durabeck with a two-tone white and gray and it looked awesome!

If you are going to have to start over and re-finish the whole deck for consistency and cosmetics, then I would copy something like the above...

finally, the pics would also help us make sure the prior repairs were done right...

How is your foam in that boat? Once the foam in a Whaler gets water-logged, its hard to fix because of they way they build those boats in the factory...

Hope this helps,
