Re: Boataholic? boat addiction?

hi my name is ray and im a boataholic.
my wife has caught me on more then one occasion, either sitting in the boat, or just starring at it.
2 weekends ago me an my buddy were getting drunk, sitting in the boat in the driveway.
yes i was making boat sounds.
my wife is starting to get concerned now.
cuz the boat is at the marina getting some work done and because i cant see it i keep begging her to let me go check on my baby
she looked at me and said "i wish you worried about me like you do your darn boat."
any suggestions

Re: Boataholic? boat addiction?

It's my life. The rivers, lakes, and the seas are my home. I better like it an' love it. If I didn't...I wouldn't do it!

I couldn't live on this little, crowded island, without an escape route.

From here we can go east, west, south, or north....by boat. Sometimes our "addictions and 'holics" mix with our work.

I wouldn't mind a trip to the wilderness. No water in sight except my canteens.

Well I named my boat SWEET ADDICTION for a reason! :) I firmly believe that it is something that is in your blood. Both sides of my family are literately life long boaters.

HAHAHA!!! I had my fishing buddy over for a Pabst drinking session last night, we were doing the exact same thing only were not making any boat sounds. We were pounding the stereo instead. I friggin love it! We call it a "therapy session" :)

like a parent, if we strike up conversation, and get to talking about whatever, at some point I will pull out my phone and start showing pics of my boat:facepalm:

My name is Watermann and I have a boat problem too, my garage mainly, it should be on the hoarders show, it's full of boat and related boat junk as she calls it. Her Buick is out sitting in the cold and rain now, there's no room for a car inside my boat shrine...

Oh and I even stirred up some trouble just for the sake of it on my resto thread just so I could think about boats more.

Re: Boataholic? boat addiction?

Yesterday, having finished replacing the transom on my '68 ShellLake I was reinstalling the console and rope and pulley steering when my wife came around the corner and seeing the new cable and pulleys gave out a Woo Hoo! After going over the progress with her I said, You know, there's this thread on that boat forum thing I'm always looking at about people that are always working on and talking about boats, I, uh, guess thats kinda like me huh? She said, I don't mind you always talking about boats, or working on them so long as there's results, so long as we have boats we can use. I immediately got defensive and said, What about the ol MFG we use for tubing and what about Fishwish there that took us all over the Keys? I finished them! Exactly, she said, that's why I don't mind you always working on and talking about boats.

I love my wife.
