JoLin....I think it's time for an intervention:confused:

It's been tried. The 'interveners' ended up in fetal positions on the floor, reduced to tears. I threw some drinks in the cooler and went for a cruise...

You must learn to differentiate between a boat and a woman...Countless input love and affection is required with one big difference...Boat's do not talk back no matter what you do to them...Hmm and they dont remeber big thing there...;)

When two footitus IE the need for a bigger boat sets in, just go way bigger the first time it will save you a ton of money. The last stage is a houseboat so you can just live where you play. This is a very contagious disease. Thankfully my wife caught it to so we are still married, but she wants more boats than I do> Is this normal?

Hate to break it to ya, but I STARTED with a houseboat - 38ft. Live on it as many months a year as I can, rent a room somewhere in the months that I cant.

Two Footitus turns into Ten Footitus. I want to move up to a old tug or something and convert it to liveaboard.

hinting around that it would be nice to have a boat for more shallow places, something smaller and easy to manage, that i can take to these hp restricted local lakes. to my suprise the admiral replied "thats a good idea" so i will be getting a john type boat, over the winter sometime when the right deal comes along. have no experience with john boats, are they better with the square bow or v/semi v? i want to go shallow is a flat bottom better than a rounded one? how sturdy are the tin hulls compared to f/g or plastic/pvc?

Re: Boataholic? boat addiction?

I have 2 boats. Ok, not high dollar boats but both run like a dream thanks to I boats and lots of cash and maintenance and more cash ... I still check out the boats for sale section in Craigs list every single day looking for a 3rd boat. I especially like the picture ads :D But I live under the threat of being Torpedoed by the Admiral if any more boats show up :(
So I too feel your pain. I just like riding, maintaining, polishing, staring at, sitting in and listening to the boats motors and looking at the water shimmering in the Sun light. I wouldn't mind living on a boat one day

Does driving 3600kms in three day to pick up my last boat (a 17') a tad over 1100 miles from home make me part of the club? ;)

Don't know why you didn't do both ... Find some deals shopping so you had cash left over to boat a little.

Let's see. Step one, you bought a boat. Step two, you repaired/rebuilt a boat, and now Step three, you are looking for a second boat. Only one more step to go.

You haven't lived until you've seen the look on your wife's face when you show up with a pile of glass cloth, resin and plywood and tell her that you are going to build your own boat. Priceless!
