boat no title

A friend of mine put me i contact with his aunt who has a boat to be removed from her house. so i go and look at it and it is great it is a 1963 15' starcraft with a rebuilt 1958 Johnson 50 hp engine. her husband had started to rebuild it a passed a few years ago now she needs it out of her drive way she dose not know any thing about it except she dose not have a title. What can i do i relay would like to finish this thing

Go get it. Then go to your local DMV and ask them what you need to do to get the title.
Probably just need a bill of sale from her.
But the point is, go to the DMV and ask. they will give you the correct answers.

What state? It's different everywhere. Here is TX the parks and wildlife department handles boat registration. Over the last few years they have really tightened up on having the proper paperwork. In TX you may as well scrap it with no title.

in the link that woodonglas sent it mentios home made boats thats not the way to try i did . its adead end . they know the differance. you need to find some kind of hull id or old reg. numbers trace it to last po find him and ask for title good luck it may take alot of digging .
