Boat Lift Question

I recently purchased a boat lift. The lift has a 12 Volt electric winch but now after getting it to the cottage and sitting in place, I noticed the cable appears to have been rerouted to not use the two pulleys at the far end of the lift. It is routed to only use the pulleys at the front of the lift closest to shore. I'm wondering if this is safe/common practice? Perhaps the lift was a manual with a handle wheel and the cable was rerouted after a 12 volt winch was installed? I'm more worried about whether the lift is safe to use this way. I suspect that if it was engineered with 4 'lift' points they should all be used. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I should probably add that it's a cantilever lift.

My cantilever Shore Station lift only has pulleys on the front (shore side) of the cradle. As dingbat stated, the other end is hinged and shouldn't need a cable.

Looking at the design, it appears that only one (front) end of the lift is actuated. The other (rear) end is hinged
Yes that’s the way it currently operates but I was confused as to why the pulleys exist at the other end. It seems to be working this way. Thanks very much for taking the time to help.

Thanks I was confused as to why the pulleys are at the other end and not used. It seems to be working fine this way and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and example of yours.
