Hi folks, I'm about to put a new floor down on my cc191 sea nymph. My question is what do you do with the seam between the aluminum hull and the plywood floor.

The plywood will be sealed on all sides with poly resin, right?

Why not overlap the seam with the vinyl? It will give a smooth look, if the seam is smooth.

Yes the plywood will be sealed on the sides. Wasn't sure how much aluminum boats flex if the floor was to be tied to the hull like that.

I ran my vinyl past the plywood and 3 inches onto the aluminum.

My boat is used strictly for fishing, and wanted to keep sinkers, hooks, swivels, etc., from filing into the crack and being lost under the floor. This was more important to me than aesthetics.

It also kept water from getting under the floor, except in the bilge area; until the boat sank at the dock in a big storm.
