Re: Bleah!

That is insulting. Not at all what we expect of our neighbors in the North.

You are now on the list of people to ridicule when you start whining about 110 degrees F. You wanna show how tough you are? Spend a summer here without AC.:D

I have spend winters in MN and visited Fairbanks when it was so cold one left a vapor trail just walking down the street. I am no stranger to extreme cold or extreme snowfall in environments equipped to deal with them. That is why I live in Texas.;)

You must think we were born yesterday.

JB...easy....I was just kidding and meant no offence, but you must know that. I've been up to my arse in snow for many years and up here when I lived back in the snow belt (Ontario) we just take it as part of the winter landscape.
I now live in Victoria, B.C which has had zero snow this year and is on the brink of spring.:)
Interestingly the issue of a hot Texas summer to Canadians is pretty much identical to a cold snowy winter to Texans...we simply aren't used to dealing with it and it darn near would kill some us while you Texans laughed at our lack of resistance to heat...so you aren't far off in your statement at all.;)

Re: Bleah!

Well, when y'all yamdankees start whining about getting a day of 100+ degrees in August I will remember your compassion.

JB I live here in central Missouri. We get BOTH types of weather here and sometimes in the same day LOL. I give you my heart felt sympathy buddy.

Here in far northern Michigan, we have to suffer thru yet another day of bright sunshine, and daytime temps in the mid 20's.

That's t-shirt and shorts weather to us locals!

My snowblower is gathering dust in the shed!

The best thing about lots of snow is that once you get done shoveling it, you're to tired to complain about it. (yes we have a snow blower, but it's still work when the snow is this deep) When it's hot, all you can do is complain.

I don't foresee any problems here. We got maybe 3". It's pretty to look at, but that's about it. That's my kind of snow. It'll mostly be melted away by Sunday.

Our department went into work at the normal time this morning but we were free to go at noon to work from home the rest of the day. That's fine with me. Besides, unless I have to put my hands on a piece of hardware, there's really nothing I can't do from home that I could do at work.

same for me, working from home - UNLESS I need to install equip. or show my guys how to. :)
