Very cleaver use of a pickup bed shell. I'd give him a B+ for original thought. Not sure of the execution, but it looks relatively good.

But then, I like funky looking boats.

Re: bit of a different boat.

Hey Chief
I bet this guy got a gold star in his boat building 101 class. My next question would be; Is this thing CG approved and will it meet flotation criteria.
Me; I'd like to get the front window open so I can have a way to get to the bow line/anchor line in a hurry. Then again, maybe there's no need for anchors when it's already on the way down. The order to ABANDON SHIP only requires one thing, to get off the boat.

Common now...... Don't tell me ya bought this thing!

Re: bit of a different boat.

i guess i should have posted the other pics in his ad. there was no description, no price, nothing. i don't know if it's fiberglass or aluminum. the boat itself looks fiberglass but the transom looks like some kind of aluminum weld. or a very bad fiberglass filler job. too funny.

Would love to know the history of it and how much they want for it.

Re: bit of a different boat.

When I was kicking around the hard top idea for my Bayliner, a couple of guys at work suggested using a pickup cap.

After seeing that, I'm glad I didn't.

i got more info on it. it's a 14' fiberglass boat. although it looks longer than that. he wants 1800.00 for it. and the cap is clamped on. but i'll be honest, by the look of that transom, i don't think i would get into that thing if i was on the titanic and sinking.

I notice the date stamp on those photos is over a year and a half ago. I wonder if it still looks the same, unless date stamp is wrong.

mphy98 it's eh, not "hey", eh ;)

P.S. At least he put the cap on the "right" way! :)

Re: bit of a different boat.

So what do you call em up there hey?

We call them "Hosers" but the technical term is 1) "Albertans"....unless you are from Alberta and then they are called "neighbours"........or....
2) "Maritimers"..from the Maritimes .."neighbours"
3) "Valley Lads"..From the Valley (Ottawa).."neighbours"
4) "Baymen"...from around the Bay (Nfld.) ..."neighbours etc. etc.

There are a ton more regional variations but as someone said earlier the common theme is flannel, denim, toques, beer, and hockey. :)
