Hi All,

The trim guages on both of my engines are not working and haven't been working for some time. I've looked for the sender unit near around the engine bracket but have had no luck finding it. Where is it? What does it look like? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: BF225 Trim Guages Not Working

I had the same problem with my 90, if your motor is similar it is located at the top left (as viewed from the rear) side of the motor near the trim lock arm used to hold the motor up while trailering. It is a small black plastic sender with an arm that contacts the motor. Mine had become stiff and was stuck in the down position. I sprayed it down several times with electrical contact cleaner and worked it up and down until it started to spring back on its own. Works fine now. it tool 5 or 10 minutes of working it back and forth before the spring returned it to the up position every time. Good Luck!
