They are voting on a smoking ban.
If passed. You could only smoke in private homes and cars!
(unless children) are present. I added that!
Because if passed I think that will be next.

There might be more to the bill, but that is how it was reported.
If passed I think Belmont should also include ALL leaf burning in the fall, trash burning, and NO camp fires in camping grounds..

Just to be fair!
They should also shut down any plants that produce smoke!

What a joke CA is.. and WA State also..
Unknown to most people in my state, when WA state voted in the no-smoking ban...
What did not get reported on the TV or Radio was that every hotel/motel was sent a letter saying that they could no longer have smoking rooms.

Libs control the media.. do as we say and not as we do..

I'm worse than a non-smoker. I'm an ANTI-smoker. It's unquestionably the STUPIDEST thing a human being can do to him/herself. And to have the gall to claim a right to expose other human beings to toxic substances under the guise of some perverted definition of "Pursuit of Happiness" is even Stupider than smoking in the first place.

Incidentally, it probably IS illegal to burn leaves and trash in a restaurant, government building, etc. Interesting that you should equate smoking cigarettes to burning leaves and trash (very appropriate). So to avoid a double-standard, we should...

Actually, by maintaining 2-stokes in proper mechanical condition, I am doing my part to keep the pollutants to a minimum. I must say that I am proud of the marine industry's response to cleaning-up their products. When the EPA started making noises about limiting marine engine emissions, the marine industry Jumped at the opportunity, much Unlike the auto industry that has bucked each and every proposal. The day there are far more 4-strokes than conventional (edit) 2-strokes on the backs of boats will be a good one.

I don't like technology discrimination, Etec's are the cleanest OBs on the market, so all 4 strokes should be banned All marine engines have been dirtier than any new vehicle sold in the US since the early 80's. Still are dirtier than any new automotive engine. I am really trying to make no other point than there are many people who think you are evil. As evil as Tobacco companies and oil companies and pharmaceutical companies and lawyers, and that's really evil . . .

Best thing I ever did for my family and me was to move my business and myself from mexifornia. Away from the idiotic liberal illness and mindset. Productive,inteligent, legal Americans move out of CA at an alarming rate. Makes you wonder what's left? That's why it's the left and the left coast. I hate threads like this. It is a catch-22, there is absolutely no way to please both sides. No matter what is decided, someones rights are lost; be it the smokers right to smoke, or the non-smokers right to a smoke free environment.

IMHO there needs to be some limit to smoking, but not a complete limit, as smokers have the right to smoke. Anti-smoking laws also severely harm businesses......I see it here on campus everyday. In the lower level of the Union there is a bar & grill. Smoking used to be allowed only in the bar section. Last year they initiated a smoking ban in all buildings and within 30ft of entrances/HVAC. The building ban included the bar which was typically a place where smokers congregated indoors. I agree with the ban near entrances, but the building ban, which realistically only affected the bar, has cost the University upwards of 60% of their normal profit at the bar. It was smokey no doubt, but it was my choice to go there and I can still buy a drink there and not be in the smokey part of the bar.....

Therefore I support bans within restaurants, where food is some percentage of the total sales. That total is to be debated. I would think 60% would seem appropriate.


Like I said....catch 22.
