I can't stand the taste of beer. Don't know if it is the hops or barley. But it definitely had something to do with the Kirin Brewery, followed by the Asahi Brewery, and then trying to drink the bar at a little club on the Ginza. Didn't sober up up for two days.
My son, on the other hand, only likes specialty beers and dark lagers. While in college, he worked part time at Johnny Morris's (of Bass Pro Shop fame) International Wine Center. After taking orders from Hollywood bigwigs, he would buy, at a discount, a high-end beer each night. He can't stand domestics other than a Sam Adams limited run now and then.
