40 horse mercury 4 cylinder, fill oil injection tank and the warning horn still beep beep all the time, i replaced the sending unit in the bottom of the oil tank but did not help, any sugestions.
Thomaslineman.....I have the same problem with my 60 Mariner.I replaced the sending unit also.If i take my tank off & turn it upside down the beeping stops, then turn it back over & the beeping starts again.Apparently thre is a float inside the tank that is bad.I figure the only fix is to buy a new tank. Maybe someone else will have a idea on a fix.
I'm afraid replacing the tank is the only alternative. You can't get just the float, or even get at it. I've had to replace several for customers. The float stops floating. I'd like to take one apart someday to find out why. The customers always take their old tanks with them.
