My wife grew up on the lake, and they always beached there boat using a car tire. This weekend, I saw what basically amounted to someone taking the carpeted 2x4?s off their boat trailer, and mounting them to a platform, and beaching there boat on it (this is at on a fresh water lake). I had never seen that before, is there a name for it? Seems like the best way to do it to me. I?m not good with the tire method, or a keel gard, but I really like this idea, if it?s as good as it looks. I saw several platforms next to each other, but everyone was out boating, so I couldn?t really see it in action. I?m new to all this (boating), but searched here for quite a while, and haven't seen a topic about one of these.
