I'm looking at replacing my 92 Capri 1850 Deck (floor), does anyone know if there is anywhere out there that I can find the deck measurements or plans, to help get the wood cut and fit better. Or this one of those things where you got to take care when ripping the old deck out because that is your pattern?

Cardboard tracings from the top before you rip it out would be the easiest way.

I'd use some non-stretch nylon or another fabric which lays flat for a more precise measurement.

pm a mod to have this moved to the resto section.... you are likely in for a bit rougher ride than you think but there are plenty of good folks there that will gladly get you through it as smoothly as possible.

welcome to the dry dock......

what you are asking is really a non issue...

when you cut out the deck use a circular saw set at the depth of the floor (deck) no farther.....and just run the saw around the perimeter as close as you can.

when you get to the seat bases (im guessing back to back loungers) you will need to use a sawzall to remove them from the deck......there is lots of foam in the seat bases....

when you replace the deck.......just take measurements as close as you can......even if you are out by 1/2 of an inch.....it wont matter because this area is filled with a fibreglass filler....then layers of fibreglass go over it.

you can use sections the old deck for a template if you wish....but a measuring tape is just as good.

the areas of concern are in the aft near the battery box.....one directly in front of the dog house, and between the walk way.

take special care in front of the dog house......the deck is twice as thick there, as there is an additional covering over the gas tank....

when you get the deck up.....do some core samples of the foam ......and more of the transom. there will be other issues

^^^ What he said. I did one of these a couple years ago. Not too bad, just break the process down into step/stages rather than looking at it as a whole. Ask lots of Q's; that's why we're here :)

Good luck!
