2003 Johnson 60hp 4 stroke
J60PL4ST
3 phase rectifier

Checked with meter, not charging. Even have an alarm going off. Checked all connections, everything is tight no corrosion. Swapped battery with a 1yr old deepcycle, no change
Bench tested the rectifier.
Forward bias positive:
.66
.66
.63
Should the diodes read the same, or is a little variation fine?
Reverse bias:
All OL

Forward bias negative:
.63
.67
.67
Reverse bias:
All OL

Is the rectifier fine?
Thanks

3 phase rectifier need 3 yellows carrying each stator AC power at 120 degree phase difference..... each positive phase routed out to the battery for charging.

you could try a 3 phase rectifier from amazon as a test (dirt cheap and higher capacity handling fwiw...) it won'T regulate but you can try
if same condition.... measure stator output on yellows..... or start there first !!

chat GPT says it is a voltage regulator not just a rectifier.
static battery voltage should rise when the engine runs. if not bad regulaor or lack of AC from stator... check ALL connections !!

see parts list... expensive little thing... not OEM but amazon has cheaper stuff to do the job if mounted properly .

a Mercury version my work just as well $32$ CDN

It's been working for 19yrs. Maybe it's gone kaput. 1st issue ever with the motor. I'm going to run it to get a better test on the stator. Should show 18v or so idling and alot more with some throttle...
