try bassboatcarpets.com
they have precut kits for most boats.

there is a difference between indoor/outdoor and boat carpet, mostly the weight is less on the backing.

I've priced around, they're not the dead cheapest, but you do get what you pay for sometimes.

I'm going to get my carpet from them if they'll move on the shipping. Too many places are doing free shipping these days to not try to bargain with a company.

Re: Bass Tracker Pro 16 Project

Ok finally got back to the project. My neighbor bravely volunteered his garage to help me finish. We removed the lower unit and replaced the water pump. I was amazed how good the condition of the motor was. There was no rust and the water pump really did not look like it needed replaced. The manual suggested it be done every 2 years or so, so we replaced it. I was going to pull the carburator and soak it in cleaner but the removal process looked too complex for my novice behind.
I took it took a mechanic recommended by a friend and he removed and cleaned the carbs, he said it did not need the oil pump replaced.
Now I wasn't sure if the motor would even run when I bought this project, but to my amazement it had great compression and the water pump blew water like 10 feet when he hooked it to hose and started it.
Now I need to replace the steering cables and work on the trailer. The rails on the trailer were rotted of course and need replaced. I will also need to sand off the trailer and paint.
Anyone have suggestions for what paint to use?

Re: Bass Tracker Pro 16 Project

We ended up buying The carpet for the decking in precut rolls, it was cheaper by about half from getting the carpet cut off the big rolls at Lowes. We used carpet glue and a spray adhesive to hold the edges on the metal parts where the carpet was folded over like in the live well area.
On the decking we used a staple gun to hold the folded over edges to to put tension on the carpet and allow the glue to dry.
It was a bit challenging to cut the plywood to fit as the taper of the boat made for curved edges. We also had to account for the 1/8 of and inch of carpet overlap. The side of the bass tracker boats are aluminum and have foam pieces shoved up under to give the boat boyancy should it fill with water. We had to replace the foam under the decking as it was water logged and moldy in spots. I ended up cutting the foam pieces using a circular saw and it worked out very well.

what all did u have to remove to get the carpet out i have a bass tracker 3 and i hate that old brown carpet.

Keep up the good work on this project. I am guessing this to be a father son project ........ that is great quality time spent. You will get there, and when you launch it the first time ... It will be well worth the time and sweat you have put into the build.
Good job!!

Hi, I just bought a boat almost in the same shape as yours was, so do you have finished photos of your project?

Nice job! How did you fold/cut carpet under hatches? Also can I still have that seamed look where the deck part meets the vericle side? If so, how?

xxlurchxx hasn't posted here since June of last year, he's probably cruising down the lake in his tracker by by now.
