Base carb settings on 2003 Tohatsu 40M?

Hi Does anyone know what the base carb settings are for a 2003 Tohatsu 40M? Are all three carbs set the same to start?

If this is an M40D, then the short answer is Yes.

Float settings are set the same, and the carbs should be balanced (throttle stops, idle mixtures, and linkages, as with any multi-carb setup on any motor.

Thank you....but what are the base settings??? How many turns out?

When taken apart one was at 3/4 another was 1-1/2 and tanother was 2-1/4.
No wonder it ran crappy.

1 & 1/2 full turns outwards from soft stop ........

You may want to get a service manual, available from a Tohatsu/Nissan dealer.

Intial setting is 2 1/4 +- 1/4...Ditto on the manual.
