Barometer install on the boat

My intentions were to have a barometer on board so I will know when the weather changes for rain. Shoulda read first b/c seems like it predicts 24 to 48 hours in advance which will not help me when im out in the gulf. But im going to install anyways. question is:
I have a mini cabin in the center console where i store the portapotty, Will the barometer accurately work in a closed cabin?

As long as the cabin is not air tight.

Yeah, I'm not sure that particular instrument is useful for much on a boat, but sure why not. Most phone apps can give you that information if you're within cell range.

Man I have the Galaxy s3 and I didnt know it till now but it has a pressure sensor. installed an app and bam no use for my barometer. Technology.....

Lol, well I have one too, but I wasn't going to start a string of posts over what phones have what capabilities.

The barometer will give you about a 24 advance INDICATION of a HURRICANE coming.
But you will like already have known about it for 3 days from the Local news.
Thunderstorms will likely be seen before they affect the air pressure.

I would have been a good thing to install 50 years ago.
Today it is just a novelty. Install it next to your Sextant!

I keep the sextant and barometer right next to the abacus and Loran radio.
