Ballistic Stainless

Last year I bought a 13 X 21 Ballistic Stainless prop. I have niot yet had a chance to try it.

Before I do, I'd like to know what to generally expect. It is for my Chrysler 140 and the engine is capable of turning it within operating range so that is not my question. My question is: Is this prop a stern lifting or bow lifting prop. It is fully cupped along both the trailing edges and the squared tips of the blades and appears to have a high rake angle.

My 90HP Yamaha has a Michigan Wheel Ballistic prop similar to the one you describe, and it certainly seems to jump my 1870 jon boat up on plane in seconds! It lifts the bow quickly, never noticed the stern lifting at all. Prop's been on there since new in 1999, no problems so far. Hope this is helpful.

It is a bow lifting prop. What kind of boat & how high is your motor?

21 foot Manatee Cuddy and the hull has too much surface in the water. Engine anti-vent plate is set one inch above the riding pad. A bow lifting prop will work well.

Yep, Gunner! Interesting thread, plus a couple of others that showed too. I will re-post when I get the boat out and test the prop. BTW: got the prop brand new but out of box for 200 at Cabelas
