"Mine that Bird" is the K Derby winner and favored tomorrow in the B Stakes, but the horse has been "Gelded" (Man, what an innocent sounding word considering the implications

Given the stud potential of a winning horse, why on earth would they do this to the poor bugger, and even if he wins, what's he worth????
