Was out on lake last weekend for about 3 hrs at trolling speed (about 600 rpm). Made 2 wide open throttle runs for about 2 min each time.

Did not know bad rectifier could cause damage. I know the rectifier was bad cause no charge the whole time and erratic tach at wide open trottle. My question is, was this long enough to do damage to stator?

Obviously I have no idea if your stator is damaged or not, however a damaged rectifier results in the power being generated by the stator to back up at the stator, in turn resulting in a overheated stator.

Go to CDI Electronics.com and look up trouble shooting procedures for stators. As Joe said it could have burned the stator.
