I swear, trying to get any real work done this week is a waste of time. When I call people I work with on a regular basis half the company seems to be gone. All except the lowest secretary on the totem pole, she has to be there to say no one else is I guess.

Re: Back to work

exactly why I usually take this time of year off. Nobody wants to see you before Christmas unless you were bringing in swag or food & goodies for their party.
Nobody really wants to see you this week either as they are on vacation themselves, or doing end of year inventory and wont even think of bringing in inventory.

Re: Back to work

I tried to have the time off, but the head electrician got it so I will be doing that this week. Glad I only work 2 days.

Re: Back to work

True but my bill collectors never take a holiday. :D
How true.

To be a used car dealer for another year I just got a $12,000.00 insurance bill. And on top of that the state just added another "surcharge" of $500.00 (on top of $1000.00) to cover sales tax, license and title fees if new car dealers go down the pipe.
So.....all used car dealers in Illinois are covering the new car dealers that go bankrupt, but not the used car dealers.

And during the holidays the $$$ is not exactly rolling in is it?!!

But soon is my tax refund holiday extravaganza when the drunken sailors go wild. :D:

Re: Back to work

I always save some vacation time for this time of year. I put in for it as soon as I get back in January. I figure it's the one time of the year that I can use a only 4 days vacation and get 10 days off. I forward my phone to my cell and take the calls I need to just as a courtesy and I get up every morning and check all the systems remotely. I plan ahead and wrap up the month before Christmas and have never had a problem so I always get the time off.

"Trust me, I sell used cars!" Don't you just love that first really nice day in March when people come out of the woodwork to buy cars? That day was always my best day.
