hi i just recently bought a boat and it ran fine for a day but, when i took it out again, the engine kept stalling @ cruise. if i keep pumping the primer ball than the engine will stay running. i'm thinking that the fuel pump is going out. can i get some help

sounds pretty reasonable that the fuel pump took a crap. check your local marina and get a rebuild kits nothing to rebuilding them a diaphram and a few gaskets.

sigh....i had this problem too. go fine for 10 or 15 mins then bog, then i'd pump the primer, then it'd go for 5 or 10 mins then bog. Tank vent was closed. Last time it happened on a warm day, it near flattened my tank, lol. might not be your problem, but if your new to this like me, apparently it's quite a common mistake. Do you open the vent on your tank?

Take a compound meter/vacuum gauge and test the fuel pump and clear hose to test for air in the fuel line. Here's a link that explains the diagnostics.

I've got a diaphragm and gasket kit on the way, but the problem you described was me being a noob with my tank vent closed. i had same problem until i opened the vent, based on my findings here, now, alls good as far as fuel delivery goes.
