I am in the midst of restoring my 1994 bowrider.
I removed the cap which was secured to the hull with wood screws which go from the cap into 3/4" strips of plywood. See highlight in picture below.
The plywood strips are in good shape, but I plan on replacing them w/ solid wood, I'll cut up some 2x4s.
How do y'all recommend treating them?
I could:
1: Do nothing as the old strips lasted just fine.
2: Poly and wrap them in CSM, too much work.
3: Coat w/epoxy, overkill, might be too stiff?.
4: Use the old-timers treatment, that I picked up on this forum, from woodonglass?
