Are all 4.3 Harmonic Balancers the same?

I see a website selling a harmonic balancer and it says for 4.3 mercruiser 1987-2015. I have one off a 1986 just so happens. Is there some different about the 86 where the harmonic balancer wouldn’t work on a 01 4.3 mercruiser?

I bought a 2001 4.3 mercruiser engine with lots of parts but no harmonic balancer. I need help with a part number or some type of info that would help me get the correct one.

Do you have a serial number on the engine?

They are different the 4.3 has almost 6 versions and internal balancer shafts and belt drive type is why they changed things up with the dampners/balancers.
