Ha, I had an old snow blower like that, Who Driven' Who? It was so much work steering it around I went back to shoveling.

Ya know, when in doubt, do what Don says. He sees the bigger picture when it comes to boat mechanics. Figure out your water or problem if you've got one. The boat ran on the aux fuel can before, is that what you tried last time? Pump some gas into a container like I mentioned previously and see what you get. If you do it methodically it will be much easier and if you do it the way Don says, he'll be more willing to help along the way, In my opinion.

Have you used this boat much on the water. How has it performed for you?

Was glad to see your outdrive fluid was okay.

You're kidding, right?

The boat performed great on the water, ran about 30-35mph. I put about 20hrs on the water since i owned it. All seasons its been two throttle pumps and start let it warm up and go. Now it sat for a month and is acting like this.

Again i probably flooded it trying to start it, two pumps of the throttle and it usually fires, this time i did it from the main tank to be sure, nothing. Then i tried on the aux tank again still no go. I'll probably go out in the morning hook it up to my spare tank it probably will fire right up.

Just messin on the black friday bit, i went out but later in the day, still managed to get a few things that i needed for the business they had on ad, dont think that many people went out around here, except i went to staples, most people flocked to wal-fart, and toys r us and to the mall, i went opposite direction of that mess.

My friend, your posts are fine. The thing about boats, I/O's especially, is that just when you get the engine running good, you may find that the outdrive is bad, or in need of work. If you think engine work is out of your comfort zone, outdrive work will make your head spin.

People come here all the time with that cheap or hand me down boat thinking they'll get it going only to end up dead in the water (no pun) bacause they need $1000 worth of work on an outdrive they are unable to service themselves.

i'm sure Don would hate to have you put a few hundred into the motor only to have you find a problem with the outdrive or vise versa.

As long as your posting and plugging away at it I'll help as much as I can, but your the one who's doing the work, I appreciate your desire to DIY. For me its the only way I can afford to boat!!!

Plugs and wires can't hurt. get it running again, solve your fuel issues and move on!!!

I am, just milking your guy's knowledge to point you hate me, hey its how i learn. The drive ran too good to be damaged but who knows, when i drained it the gear oil was clean, Just multi colored and thick but no chunks of metal came out. I watched it drain out.

Im just bad luck when it comes to fuel systems, every piece of machinery i owned needed the fuel system gone through or redone, then again my 2 lawn mowers both are on there second deck and the engines run like champs.

Aint worried too much, traded my car hauler for the boat.

Off to eat some dinner, be back later.

As the saying goes, the two best day owning a boat are when you first buy and then sell it. LOL, Just kidding, i like my boat too much. I try to do all of it at one time so i ask questions all at one time. Just who i am...

For one thing, changing subject in the middle of a post will get you a lot less replies than if you start a new thread for each different problem.
The plug wires are solid wire inside, and the oem wires are stiff. The spark plug ends are resistors. if there is corrosion, they need replaces.

You have to understand, there is no Staples EZ Button when doing repair work on a boat. You have to have the tools, the manuals, and the ability to do the jobs. If you lack one of them, you will have problems.

I thank you gentlemen i belive i have enough info to go off of, and between all the info from you guys and my manuals, I should atleast get it protected through the winter. I never owned a boat before so i am extremely worried about doing this incorrect of 1/2 ***, even though its pretty straight forward. Its just wierd coincidences involving the fuel. After it ran without a hitch all season long.

Sorry for ruffling some feathers :(

Adios

P.s. Would be nice if life had an easy button, but alas it don't. Thats why questions are asked.
