His boat was rated for a 150. The boat is powered by a 200 but if it was a mercury then they have a 2.4l 150 and a 2.4l 200(also in 2.5). The weight would be around the same which is prob why it has lasted so long. Imo the extra 50hp wouldnt make much difference. I had a boat with a 150hp and swapped a 200hp and picked up maybe 5mph and they were both 2.4L so torque gains were minimal. I traded the 200 back to a 150(to sell boat) and ended up keeping it for another year and after perfecting the setup gained back my 5mph(actually 9mph).
