For telling a human resource leader she did'nt know what she was talking about when it came to plant operations (truth) 2 months later my position after 15 yrs was eliminated. 5 months later she was fired for unfair labor practices! Plant closed 1 year later after not being profitable to company by not haviing enough skilled managers and machine operators. But I moved on as we should and make the best of it. People always get whats comming to them!!!!!!

Not finishing my college degree like most of the folks my age. Although I regret it, I am also cognasant of the fact that I beat to the tune of a slightly different drum..

I can agree with that, at 28 I'm still struggling to take a class a semester and finish my BA, I'm NOT a great student by any means but it's almost becoming a mission to finish after 10 years.... I was at a fork in the road @ 21 where I could have gone away to school (after I completed my Associates degree), however I also met my partner at that time so life worked out!

Wish I found my life's calling though- I really thought it would all be clear by this point... With hard work and savings, a side business, I own a rental property, closing on a new house in July, have the boat and a few cars and money in the bank so life is good!

Don't worry about finding it. It will find you.
For me, what started out as a temporary, 2-3 month position while I grew my upstart business. It turned into a 35 year career in an entirely different field. Who would have ever thought that someone with a education in welding technologies would end up selling industrial automation systems in an entirely different field.

Nope, not really any regrets, because the past is only the stepping stones that got us to today. There is nothing we can do about the past, only the present and future do we have any power over. For this reason, I like to focus on what lies ahead, not what was behind. I do realize that I learn from the past, and the past has molded me and helps me make today's decisions, but I would rather base those decisions on tomorrow rather than yesterday.

My life is good, and I am happy with where I am today, so no regrets about yesterday.

For me - not having more kids I think. Our son is a wonderful godsend but I think growing up an only child is hard for him.

My wife had sudden and serious life-threatening complications during the latter part of her pregnancy and for awhile it looked like I might have lost both of them. Thank god I didn't and after a month in an intensive care unit after his birth I got them both home. Her doctor said risking another pregnancy would be foolish so we didn't. I guess it's kind of hard to "regret" a curveball from the universe like that when it could have turned out a whole lot worse.

I agree 100%. Last year, we were all on the SFD rescue boat, FIL, his brothers and I , and the topic came up, if we could change anything in our pasts, what would it be............

After musing for a while, i decided i would never change anything.

my past FUBAR's, and good and bad experiences make me what I am, and had I changed anything, who is to say i would have meet my wife, had our Boys, and met the many many fine people i have the pleasure of knowing, both online and off line...............

Life, if we pay attention turns our regrets and bad decisions into wisdom, as JB said so well a few posts back................

The other regret may come to haunt me later but it could turn out to be not having kids sooner in life as I have none at 30 but do hope to soon.

I had my 1st at 38 and 2nd at 40. Definitively no regrets. They keep me younger Right time, right place, right wife, right life

Regrets, only one, my last job, and that will feeling will pass soon. Now onward and upward. The rest is water under the bridge or over the dam that helped me be who I am and where I am now.

Fireman, I think you said it best. There are a few decisions I made in life I wish I would have done differently but, for better or worse, they made me who I am and landed me where I'm at. There are many things I wish I would have done. Opportunities I missed because I wouldn't take a chance. All in all, I can't complain. I am where I am and I'm happy here.

Regrets are lessons not learned and each lesson should be taken for every negative or positive experience you have lived. It's what builds character, integrity, and respect for others.

It's only a regret if nothing was gained by the experience.
