Any one catch crabs and fish at the same time?????

My friend put on an ounce wieght when we were canal fishing and he casted just to be fun with live shrimp on. He got a fish on but it felt alot heavier than usual. He reeled it in and there was a pin fish and a crab on the line. The wieght had takin the crad off the bottom and pick it up It was a nice blue crab but we never would keep it out of our canal because we r catch and release people

I go crabbing in the Wye River off of the Chesapeake Bay..we run about 30 pots (traps) and we routinely catch fish in them. As a boy on the Bay, we used to fish for perch and catfish off sandy points and it wasn't unusual to catch a crab....but I have NEVER caught a fish AND a crab at the same time on the same cast....LOL that's tricky...

Funniest thing I've seen is my friend caught a clam on a lure! If I didn't see it happen I wouldn't believe it. The clam actually took the hook in and closed the shell (the hook was inside with the clam). What's even more ridiculous is that this was a lure and not a hook with a sinker.

One of my friends caught one the same way off a pier in Wilmington, NC. Craziest thing that it kept hanging on all the way up. He thought he had snagged a rock til it started crawling around.

The interesting thing was me and my friend were stuck because his motor wouldnt start. My other friend came back on his boat when he saw that we werent behind him when he left. It was a great story to tell.

maybe a deep diving lure that impaled in the soft part of the clam? No mater what, that is unusual to say the least.

well its not a crab but i remember one time i was fishing and got a bite hooked it started wrealing it in and realized that it was just a small fish but all of a sudden it started fighting like a big fish well upon getting it in the boat i realized first i had caught the small fish that was then eaten by a big fish as i was wrealing it in

i saw a video on youtube a tarpon was attacked by a hammerhead it was crazy my friend he hooked a baitfish then a 3ft shark came up and grabbed it it was wicked

While fishing for bream I have had bass prey on my hooked fish. Never been able to hook the bass though....

While fishing off the pier, I caught a small croaker and as I was reeling it in another larger fish swam and got hold of the croaker and it was really hard to get the fish landed as it was trashing all over the place. Sudently it stop pulling on the line and by the time I finally reel the fish in it was eat in half. From the middle of the body to the end was gone, a clean chomp by the larger fish, still don't know what kind of fish took out the croaker.

I fished one of the canals in the ICW when I was little. Sometimes crabs would be locked onto a fish when I caught it but they'd always turn loose when I pulled them out of the water.

I did catch them intentionally by using a dip net on a long handle to scoop them off the sea wall and pilings. I had a milk crate tied to my bicycle handlebars to take them home in. I also used the chicken neck bone on a string technique in the bay.


Be careful putting out your crab pots. I knew an old crabber that let the cork line loop around the end of his thumb while he threw out the pot while under way. When the pot hit the water it took all the meat off his thumb down to the first joint right off the bone.
