Hi, I'm getting ready to have an aluminum boat built and looking at different 115hp outboards.
A local shop has 2 brand new 2018 115hp Suzuki outboards for $2000 less than 2020 models.
Any issues with buying a brand new outboard that's been in the showroom for 2 years?

Thanks

No. It should have the same warranty as if you bought it 2 years ago.

But they are 2 years old and 2 grand off doesn't seem like much.

:welcome: to iBoats . . .

No issues . . .

As a matter of fact, I recently got a 1990 outboard from a relative that was essentially new . . . bought back in the day, winterized, but had never been used. It runs fine :)

A few years ago I bought a brand new 2 year old outboard (a kicker) from a well respected dealer. They replaced the impeller just because and when I went to pick it up it was in a tank for me to start up and verify it pumped water and ran perfect.

That's how all dealers should be.

Offer the dealer $ 4-5 K less than the 2020 models and fan lots of 100 dollar bills on his face. Cash money always does wonders..

Happy Boating

All I can tell you is that right now...and for the last 5 years at least...I’m confident that there isn’t a better 115 on the planet than the merc 115 2.1l CT model. Even better still...the pro Xs version. Certain of it.

Guys - This outside of the 90 day window. Also it is a drive-by post and the OP never came back after making his single post.
