on what i could do to make it perform a little better; a have a 76 sea ray 220 cc; omc ford 302 v8 i/o. only runs 45 wot. 14x15 prop. someone said maybe an exhaust redirect.......
Does that mean 45 MPH?
if so, why are you in such a big hurry?
Thats pretty good for that motor in that boat.
In reality if you want to 60 MPH you should have bought a 60 MPH boat. No offence.
If your getting 45mph you are getting about 5-10mph more than I would guess. You could go to a bigger motor 1000$ plus. Or get a boat that was made for speed. You can find a lot of used stuff out there.
Also the OMC you have is fast going obsolete.Parts are getting scarce people willing to work on them getting scarcer.
Move to a Mercruiser/Mercury or Volvo/OMC.J
It might not hurt to go into the prop forum and post the info they need to check your prop performance. You might get a little more out of it but IMO your doing pretty well as is.
