Hey guys, has anyone ever ordered from marinevinylfabric.com? I found their website and they offer various colors of marine vinyl for $7 yd, I'm just looking for some vinyl to redo my side bolsters and my bow cushions on my little river boat. I'm just wondering about quality, at $7yd it seems a little to good to be true.

Haven't used them, but there are several grades of vinyl. The type used on my Formula is much heavier then my Rinker. They said free samples, have them send you one

My wife recovered all the seat cushions on our 24ft Pontoon boat with a high quality vinyl she found at a national fabric store near us. Was able to get a deal too, because they have 10, 15, 20 and 25% discount coupons available on their websites all the time. I wish I had a picture, but I don't. Seats look brand new now.

I did order a couple samples but figured it would be tough to tell how it's gonna hold up from a sample. I'm gonna do all the work myself, I have hookup with a local Upholestery shop that I've done a ton of electrical work for. The owner told me he would even give me a sewing machine to take home and use for the winter. If I run into something I don't know how to do he said to just stop by and they'll straighten me out. He even offered to do it for in exchange for some more electrical work but I enjoy learning new skills and doing my own work. I could order the vinyl thru them but it's about $25yd, I don't wanna sink too much into because I'm probably only gonna run this boat another season before I buy another one.
Also it's mainly a fishing boat so I don't need expensive vinyl to get fish blood and bait on. A little fresh vinyl will help me with resale down the road because it's getting pretty bad and other than the Upholestery the boat is in good shape and mechanically sound. Originally I was just gonna redo the bolsters and bow cushions but with them offering help I think I'm gonna redo everything. I probably won't even want to get rid of it after a fresh interior. Thanks for the input it is greatly appreciated!

Just be aware they have some minimum shipping charges so make sure you get all your items you want in one order. I have a wholesaler I usually go through but they are a good choice if you can't get into a wholesaler.

Out of curiosity I accompanied my wife on her latest trip to JoAnne Fabrics to look through the Special Order samples of Sunbrella. I had noticed them a few years ago. They're gone now. I asked a sales woman and she said they no longer have samples but I can still place an order. When I asked if she really expected customers to purchase enough fabric to make a circus tent, at probably $40+ per yard, without seeing a sample, she admitted they haven't sold any in a LONG time.

I guess when the time comes I'll be saving money by buying online.

Looks like it goes to a place called factory direct fabrics now...maybe he just changed the name?
When I paste the link in my browser it says "problem loading page".

I will have to look at old emails to see where they were located.

I found factory direct fabrics and saw that their Sunbrella prices are horrible. I am guessing other stuff isn't much better.
