The bulletin was specific to 1985 through to 1994. So...if mine is a 1977 model of 70hp, can/should i drill on top the motor next to the lifting eye as seen in the photo in the bulletin as well? thanks

Do a search, there are several posts on how to do it, although the last one I did was mounted in the location that you mention.

I have done several different years, the key is to get the fitting as high on the block or head as you can, the very top is best. Did you find any posts showing you how to do it?
