Re: Another Model/serial number Question

Judging by the cowling we have about a year 2000 / 2001 model.

Re: Another Model/serial number Question

Thanks everyone. Called manufacturer and got them to look it up. Model # J25TVLSI 2001 25hp tiller steer electric start fits the bill perfectly. Racerone knows his cowlings. Plug must have just gotten banged up a little. One more question for you guys. Whats the V and I stand for in the model number? Everything else is clear on the evinrude website but no "v" in the lookup. Thanks

Re: Another Model/serial number Question

T = Tiller
V = I dunno
L = Long shaft (20")
SI = 01, as in 2001

Re: Another Model/serial number Question

I think a lot of the motors with the "v" stuck in the model were sold ON A BOAT originally... and or they have a special gearcase....

sometimes special , only meaning DIFFERENT.....

id bet h V in the model # is why the motor in question is white, instead of grey

I had thought the decal looked late 90s early 2000's but figured it could easily have been bought and added to any Enigne

Re: Another Model/serial number Question

all good news, amkilla. Was thinking the old '50s Johnsons and Evinrudes I like often show often show some skips or wear on the powerheads, with Johnson Holiday Bronze showing through under the blue (Evinrude) -- guessing the Johnson paint might have been the primary factory color for these '50s powerheads. But point is that the darker color of the powerhead on your motor may be unremarkable (particularly if the white was a special model, or optional). Anyway, sounds like you are in good shape.

well there you go, amkilla -- not a concern. shows I don't spend much time around the late model stuff! (late model, meaning stuff after about '63)
